Thou Shalt Honor Thy Rest Day

...or not, and then end up in everything hurts and I'm dying mode, lol. Which is where I am at. Karate doesn't have an off season, it has a train hard and compete season and a train harder compete less season. Currently I am in the latter. At the beginning of the month was the Diamond Nationals tournament. Between it and Warrior Cup, almost the end of January, I have one tournament. That means it is train harder season for me.


I am going on almost 10 days in a row of hard training with no rest day and my body is like what are you doing? Normally I don't skip rest day, I usually know better. But with my schedule, I knew I would have two days off in a row this weekend while traveling, so I skipped it this past week. And now it hurts to sit, my glutes are sore, and it hurts to stand, my calves are sore, and pretty much everything.


So here I am, 2:52am on a Thursday morning drinking coffee and contemplating the two hour workout I am going to be busting out in an hour or so, and realizing there might not be enough pre-workout for this. Only today and tomorrow, and then I get two days off. Two lovely days off, which won't be filled with rest, but they won't have workouts. :)
